Global Warming is an existential crisis
Global Warming
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions are the primary driver of global warming, accounting for about 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Since the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric CO₂ levels have risen from about 280 parts per million (ppm) to over 420 ppm, leading to a significant increase in global temperatures. According to the IPCC, the Earth’s average temperature has already warmed by approximately 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, and if current emission trends continue, the planet could exceed 1.5°C of warming as early as the 2030s, triggering more extreme weather, rising sea levels, and widespread ecological disruptions. Reducing CO₂ emissions is critical to limiting further climate change.
